Subject: So Shut Up Already
An ad politely asks movie patrons to refrain from talking during the film and to show some consideration for their fellow moviegoers. Theaters today show similar ads (although not so flowery) to no effect. It was probably the same when this ad was made during the twenties or thirties. Some things never change.

Subject: Gee I'm underwhelmed
How can so much be written in the comments here about something that has so little to be said about it?

You see a sphinx head, with the word "silence" superimposed, then a note from "management" asking that you be quiet during the movie. Big whoop.

Subject: Luckily
...we never need this message in our home, but in today's movie theatres (or even drive-ins, with all the horn honking and thump-thump music) it's a must. But I haven't gone out to see a movie since 2004...and have no regrets at all about that! All our entertainment comes from old films and television shows on DVD. :)

Subject: This film should be available in every home across the universe.
I would love to play this before watching any movies in our house for the rest of our lives. LOL. I love this. Why don't they show these anymore. Always someone talking over the movie today in ANY theater. I am going to download this to my ipod and play it for the patrons who are talking through the movie from now on. XD

Subject: It might be from the Fox
The Fox Theater in Atlanta is modeled after an Arabian courtyard. The interior is Egyptian in nature.

From the Fox website:

"The discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922 launched a worldwide fascination with Egyptian decor. The results can be seen inter-woven with the Moorish decor of The Fox."

Subject: Scared into silence
Is it just me, or does the word "silence" in giant letters look a bit menacing? It was probably even scarier on the big screen.

Subject: King tut says..
Not too sure why there's a background of the Sphinx looming there, (promoting a curse for the silence breakers??) but the superimposition over a superimposition OVER a superimposition sure is interesting. Reccomended!
